Artist Showcase: Emma English

Emma English’s photography is one of a kind. It gently illustrates real, natural life in the United Kingdom. Her pictures are definitely a treat for us Americans, as we rarely get to see what goes on across the pond. Check out Emma’s deviantART account for more great pictures and drawings!

First off, I would like to thank you for letting me conduct this interview. Please tell me a bit about yourself.

I’m Emma (aka Tofu-lion91) and I’m 16. I take art and photography at college and I’ve been doodling and drawing most of my life.

What or who would you say inspires you?

With my photography it’s just the diversity of people and how interesting they can be. I love really natural shots that capture what that person’s about. With my painting it’s the beauty of landscape and Kurt Jackson is my idol and heavily influences my work.

How did you get into creating your artwork?

It’s mostly college work and I probably wouldn’t get round to doing it if it wasn’t set by the college as work.

What are your plans for the future?

Join the police force but keep art and photography as a hobby. I don’t want it as a job or I might end up getting fed up of it!

Have any inspiring words for any young upcoming artists out there?

Keep practising and take art and photography at school/college! It’s incredible how much you can learn from just being taught properly.

Thank You.
